right age for doing rhinoplasty

When is the right age for doing rhinoplasty?

Answering this question is a bit complicated. In certain cases, such as birth defects like cleft lip and palate, the stages of rhinoplasty may be begun since the infancy. But in general, in a normal person who is willing to do rhinoplasty, the operation can be done after the completion of bone growth of nose and face, which is about 15 years old (boys: 14 and girls: 16). However, in certain cases, especially in case of severe nasal obstruction, limited nasal surgeries may be done at younger ages. But generally, rhinoplasty plastic surgery can be physically done in girls after 14 and in boys after age 16. The legal age for any case of surgery is 18.

This means that every surgical operation before age 18 will require the patient’s parental consent. After 18, the person would be responsible for himself. Normally, we try to adjourn the operation after 18. However, after 18 years old, the permission would be the father’s responsibility before marriage, and then remain with the husband. Perhaps, mental maturity of a person would be more important than his physical maturity, which cannot be attributed by a certain time. However, the surgeon needs to consider that the patient requesting rhinoplasty has reached sufficient psychological maturity.
